Irene Miller Speaks on the Holocaust
Tuesday morning, 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will have a special opportunity to hear from a renowned speaker. Our students will travel by bus to Hancock High School, to join their students in hearing from Irene Miller. She is a Holocaust survivor who came to the Copper Country last spring, and her message was received very positively by local parents who were able to attend an evening speaking engagement.
We also invite parents to attend this event. It is scheduled to begin at 9 o'clock the morning of October 17. Houghton, Jeffers, and Calumet will also be hosting Irene Miller next week, so if you are unable to attend Tuesday morning, you may be able to join one of their school presentations (call their school office). The state of Michigan now requires all 8th-12th grade students to learn about the Holocaust, and this is an amazing opportunity for our students to do so. We are pleased that Hancock has invited us to join them for this opportunity.
