In recent years, the art department has continued to expand its facilities and opportunities for students as we have added elementary-friendly sinks, a kiln, pottery wheel, and Gogh Bags that allow students to check out art-based books and materials.
Elementary Art Curriculum
Elementary students receive art instruction as part of their weekly curriculum. K-6 students focus on exploration of materials through experimentation. Students also gain technical art skills as they learn to properly use, care for, and manipulate materials.
High School Art Curriculum
DB-TC offers students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to take part in our art program on an elective basis. High school art assignments allow leeway for adaption and personalization, specifically for advanced art students who move toward a modified choice-based model, offering students choices for responding to their own ideas and interests through the making of art. See the trimester schedule for specific course offerings in the visual arts department.
