From the Administration
Hello, and welcome! I am Christina Norland, superintendent-principal of Dollar Bay-Tamarack City K-12 Schools. I am grateful to be a part of the unique school and community of Dollar Bay, where the theme is "family." Parents and community members are always encouraged to stop by for a visit, call, or email, to discuss anything on your mind related to our school. I like to resolve issues before they become problems. Communication is key. Also on the topic of communication, please subscribe to our weekly newsletter using the red button on the bottom of any page of this website. This way, you'll be aware of happenings in our school and community.
Prior to coming to lead in DB-TC, I was honored to be named the alternate Teacher of the Year for Vermont, where I taught Music. Before that, I lived and taught in Chicago for many years and also lived for one year in Lake Norden, South Dakota. My master's in school principalship is from Central Michigan Univeristy (summa cum laude), and my undergraduate degree in music education is from North Park University in Chicago (magna cum laude). I grew up in the U.P., and love being back home for good.
Dollar Bay-Tamarack City School is a unique gem in the Copper Country and in the State of Michigan. Teachers and staff care deeply about students and our school, students are respectful and conscientious, smart and talented, and the result is a school where people feel like family and an outstanding, personalized education is gained by all.
